Artist Profile: Ralph Steadman
One of my favourite artists, I spent a lot of my time in Art College attempting to draw as well as this guy. Â I thought I’d put him on here as his work (and the artist himself) is pretty chaotic.
Steadman is a Welsh artist and illustrator, renowned for his political and social caricatures, cartoons and picture books.
Steadman had a long partnership with the American journalist Hunter S. Thompson, drawing pictures for several of his articles and books. He accompanied Thompson to the Kentucky Derby for an article for the magazine Scanlan’s, to the Honolulu Marathon for the magazine Running, and illustrated both Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail ’72. Much of Steadman’s artwork revolves around Raoul Duke-style caricatures of Thompson: bucket hats, cigarette holder and aviator sunglasses.

Artist profile: Banksy
Banksy is a pseudonymous United Kingdom-based, graffiti artist, political activist, film director, and painter.
His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine dark humour with graffiti executed in a distinctivestencilling technique. Such artistic works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.
** To those who chose the Graffiti question, do a search on Satire, Â street art and stencils**
Artist profile: Robert Del Naja
Robert Del Naja (born 21 January 1965), also known as 3D, is an English artist and musician. Initially gaining notoriety as a graffiti artist and member of the Bristol collective known as “The Wild Bunch“, Del Naja went on to become a founding member of the band Massive Attack, with whom he is still active.
Inspiration: Graffiti
Against my better judgment I have let some of my GCSE student choose graffiti as a topic for their Art exam. Â In order to get a good mark they need to research widely, choosing to look at the less obvious sources. They must draw from life, and they must choose at least one artist to study. Â They must not, use graffiti generator online, they will NOT get you a GCSE, they must not spend the next 7 weeks repeatedly designing a tag of their name.
I will post some profiles of famous graffiti artist.
This links to a site thats shows some different types of graffiti, if you chose this topic, read this link !
